Terms & Conditions
Parts
ONLY parts supplied by Ben Fitz-Gerald Mobile Motor Mechanic will be fitted to your vehicle. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will I entertain fitting customer supplied or second hand parts as this would invalidate my Public Liability Insurance.
Payment terms
Payment is due immediately upon completion of any work carried out. All parts remain property of Ben Fitz-Gerald Mobile Motor Mechanic until the invoice is settled IN FULL. We do not offer credit or any kind of flexible payment options. Payment terms are “No payment, no keys, no exceptions.” Please ensure you have sufficient funds before booking.
On occasion, special order parts totalling more than £300 will need to be paid for in advance.
We do not undertake any works that require payment at a later date by a third party, I.E. Warranty/Insurance companies. As set out above, all work must be paid for on completion, in full. In the event of carrying out repairs to be paid for by such an entity, payment must be completed by the customer upon completion and then claimed back where possible from said entity.
Your booking
Your booking will have a dedicated amount of time to carry out work stated upon booking. If you require additional work, please contact me in advance and where possible we will try to accommodate. “While you have your tools out…” and “While you’re here, can you just…” type additions will unfortunately not be entertained without a prior booking.
Due to demand, it’s not always possible to give you an exact time of arrival. Slots will be given on an AM/PM basis, and our technicians will give you as much notice as possible for their arrival time
Missed bookings
In the event that your vehicle is not at the address given for works to be undertaken, a period of 15 minutes will be allowed for the vehicle to be returned for works to be carried out. Outside of this 15 minute window, you will be sent an invoice for the full call out fee.
Logistics
Whilst every effort is made to fit in and around your schedule, unfortunately, we can take no responsibility for other appointments, school runs, errands etc for which you may require your vehicle. Please keep in mind when booking that your vehicle is booked in, and in some instances, working to time constraints is not always possible and as such, have alternative arrangements in place. If for any reason you do need to change your booking, please let us know so we can move you to a different slot that suits.
Please be aware, persistent moving of appointments will result in a deposit of £60 being required to secure your booking on the third occasion.
Whilst works are undertaken
Whilst it is understandable that some people will be interested and maybe somewhat intrigued as to what happens to your vehicle when repairs are undertaken, it is vital that, for Health and Safety purposes, you adhere to the following.
• Maintain distance - Sometimes, vehicle repairs can be dangerous. Please be aware that as trained professionals, some repairs can carry an element of risk and to ensure your safety it is imperative you maintain distance to avoid injury.
• Do not access your vehicle whilst repairs are being carried out - This could cause serious injury to the mechanic and/or yourself and potentially damage your vehicle. Especially if you switch on the ignition/engine before repairs are complete.
Let us concentrate
Whilst we are friendly and more than happy to chat, please do not be offended if you are asked to allow us to get on with the job in hand. A loss of concentration could lead to injury and/or damage to your vehicle.
Ben Fitz-Gerald Mobile Motor Mechanic reserves the right to cancel any booking with no notice should circumstances dictate. We will always try where possible to make contact to cancel/postpone/reschedule, however from time to time, we are subject to circumstances outside of our control.
Warranty and Procedures
All of our work comes with an industry standard 12month/12000mile parts and labour warranty, however, in the unlikely event of an issue occurring, you MUST present the opportunity for us to rectify the issue in order for a claim to be made. Any involvement of a third party, either to investigate or repair a fault which is likely to turn into a claim against said warranty will void the warranty and as such indemnify us against any claim to be made.
ALL CLAIMS MUST FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE OR WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED.
